Voyages Jules Verne , owned by Kuoni, specialises in providing holidays for the older part of the population and wanted to create a site with their target group in mind.
As a company Voyages Jules Verne successfully promotes the romance of travel during simpler times, both with their style of writing but also in the employment of Robert Scurrah's Art Deco inspired illustrations and I wanted to keep the visual heritage intact online.
Keeping the older demographic in mind, we focussed on creating a user-centric website accessible for a less abled audience.
However, I also wanted to bring a feel of getting ready to go out on an adventure by gathering a pile of important travel tools. While this travel pile is different from person to person, most people will recognise the concept of pile itself and associate it with the excitement of getting ready to go out and explore.
Clear sign posting and navigation creates a calm and clear user experience while successfully translating the brand to the online environment as well as conforming to the UK Disability Discrimination Act.
