Dingelink

Building the first home for young mobile phone users in Denmark

The Dingelink website was the home for young Danish mobile phone users from spring 1999 to summer 2004 where it was taken offline.

The project was made for TDC, the Danish equivalent of BT, and was the first steps into creating an online community for newly formed and rapidly growing target group of young mobile phone users.

The project was a jointed creative effort between Phuc van Dang and myself and originally the site only offered downloadable banners and ringtones but as the technology grew, so did the services of the site.

When we launched the site it didn't even have its own domain name but it quickly became very successful and was at its peak one of the top 10 most visited sites in Denmark.

Through its lifespan the overall art direction and design stayed virtually untouched with only small alterations to introduce new functionality and services to the site.
